Released on June 24, 2002, via Silverstone Records, Dying to Remember introduced All That I Bleed as a progressive metal band unafraid to balance emotional vulnerability with dynamic, long-form composition. Emerging from Puerto Rico’s heavy music scene, the album blended melodic intensity, atmospheric passages, and narrative ambition—most notably through the early chapters of the multipart epic “Promise of Life.” The record was supported by three singles: “I Stand Alone” (first), “Gods” (second and still one of the band’s most widely recognized songs), and “I Confess” (third), which received airplay on Alfa Rock, Puerto Rico’s #1 rock station at the time. More than two decades later, Dying to Remember stands as both a snapshot of the band’s origins and the foundation of its evolving musical identity.

DYING TO REMEMBER

Time drifts away
The moments gone forever
Tears have all dried up
And a wall of stone took your place

Dreams disappear
Night and day now seems the same
My soul needs a fountain
Your holy love to ease my thirst

Lord I need an answer
I feel a need to know
I remember the silence
The words you never spoke

Dying to remember
Dying
This existence plain and shallow
I need to find my way again
Dying to remember
Dying
This existence plain and shallow
I need to find my way again… again

Fight against the tide of time
There is no use in looking back
Dreams are taken from our hands
As water washes away the sand

Life has made me stronger
Everyday a new game to play
There’s no one to blame
I just look at my own self
Life is like an infinite race
No one can take my place… no one.

Apart from everyone
Not in body nor in mind
I saw a man build his kingdom in the sand
Denying the freedom that he could find

Without you everything is black
Without you I could never find
Find the path that leads the way
The way into the Promised Land.

Lord I need an answer
I feel a need to know
I remember the silence
The words you never spoke
Dying to remember
Dying
This existence plain and shallow
I need to find my way again
Dying to remember
Dying
This existence plain and shallow
I need to find my way again

I STAND ALONE

One more time it burns at night
As the tears fall
I can’t remember the last time I cried
I can’t explain how much I hate or love myself
But do I lie if I say I feel the same way about you?

This lullaby is only in my head
The real world is the one you represent
Why can’t I see you in the mirror

Father, mother I stand alone
And I can’t face the world
As I choke on reality’s sick and twisted game

I see my life and I just can’t stand it
As I bear you and the one’s you’ve handled
Where did she go
As you held me in your arms

Once again I lay here at night
As a wayward son consumed by things gone wrong
God I can’t explain how much I miss her
As I kneel in tears asking her to come back

This guilt is a part of me alone
This emptiness the one I represent
Why can’t I see me in the mirror?

Father, mother I stand alone
And I can’t face the world
As I choke on reality’s sick and twisted game

I see my life and I just can’t stand it
As I bear you and the one’s you’ve handled
Where did she go
As you held me in your arms

GODS

An unreal dream
Where peace is all around
Beneath the glimmer of color
The shadow of the thorn

With open eyes shining
Through the empty halls around
What once seemed real
Just a shadow in my mind

Longing, searching for the truth
Say, say where I stand

Beneath the silent wheel
The same dusty road
A heart marble cold
Feeling nothing but contempt

With eyes in search for freedom
Blinded by prejudice
A mind in search of wisdom
Fooled… again

Longing, searching for the truth
Say, say where I stand
I want to know the answer to
What lies beyond this hand

Betray your will
Release these chains that hold me down
Empty gods that stain you life
Guilt remains
Defeat the gods that hold me down
These pantheon walls no longer stand

Lost within yourself
Try to reach for something new
The rose that promised hope
Withered from within

Stop staring at the sky
You are way above at the moon

REAL

Your words cut deep just like a knife
Make me bleed
Poisonous venom you live in hate
Feed me fear

It’s hard to see behind your lies
As your words betray your thin disguise

Words adrift in a sea of lies
Lost in the tides
Destroy at will to find what you lack
A stab in the back

It’s hard to see behind your lies
As your words betray your thin disguise

Your intention is hard to erase
A masquerade with an angel’s face
In your eyes the burning desire

Words behind a heart of stone
Don’t mean a thing
Cover my eyes so I can see
With my soul

Your intention is hard to erase
A masquerade with an angel’s face
In your eyes the burning desire
I want to see what’s real tonight

HORIZONS

Sometimes I lose sight
The future… a mystery
Hold to the dreams of the past
Fear escapes my grasp
I don’t look back at the ghost…
At the ghost behind

Take this away
And let me see what my eyes can’t see
Chasing dreams in this insanity

Leave the past behind us
Never look back
Follow new horizons
Until the fire dies

Misguided by misfortune
Divided through lies
Is it my faith that has been twisted?
And I don’t know why

Humanity’s my burden
Until the day I die
I hold on to your heart
And I know you’ll pull me out

In my dreams I find peace
Apart from the world that I know
All I see distant promise made to be broken
With these lies my dreams turn into nightmares

Now my dreams just disappear
The time has come to let go
Say goodbye to the dreams that now lie broken
I’ll go on and find a better day

A child that cries inside me
A whisper from the dark
Which path to take into the twilight
Through out this night

Insanity is my savior
In this foolish stride
I walk this endless road
Through ghosts in my mind

Take this away
And let me see what my eyes can’t see
Chasing dreams in this insanity

Leave the past behind us
Never look back
Follow new horizons
Until the fire dies

I CONFESS

That haunting voice
Begins to break free
I must accept what can’t be changed
And try to forget the rest

Ignorance, oh the endless fight
For what is really worth

Feel the wrath
Tame it’s drive
There’s no use in looking back
Just tell me what to do I confess

Unseen is the truth
Binding are the lies
I’ll dare escape from my demands
And leave the past behind

Ignorance, oh the endless fight
For what is really worth

Feel the wrath
Tame it’s drive
There’s no use in going back
Just tell me what to do I confess

The plans laid before me
Are simply not the will of who I used to be
The darkness inside me
That hunting voice that burns inside of me

Ignorance, oh the endless fight
For what is really worth

Feel the wrath
Tame it’s drive
There’s no use in looking back
Just tell me what to do I confess

PROMISE OF LIFE

I. Asleep

[Instrumental]

II. Rain

Sitting by myself
Remembered yesterdays
The hours flew by
While I watched the rain

Innocent child
Admiring how water fell
From the sky
Each drop a reason to grieve

My innocence died
As leaves in autumn fell
Impending coldness
With it’s messenger the rain

The promise of life in time a threat
“To live is to fear” the elders said
Forgetting my days, my only escape

Falling eternally
A victim of memories
Once it all seemed clear
No room for sin
Only ignorance can justify

A perfect dream in a crystal bottle
Like a message lost at sea
I find strength deep within me
Away from the world that I remember

Dreams are lost in time
Corrupted purity
Losing purpose and will
Away from the world that I remember

It seemed so easy
So easy to live
When all was a mystery
Locked in the unknown
These feelings I can’t explain
Love and hate feel the same
Answers I seek are astray
What may come?
When colors get so pale
Is there no soothing this pain?
When will it rain?

III. Soliloquy

A time for change
A time to rearrange
Priorities to find
Lies that bind
Regretting the past
A gateway to go mad

Enslaved by regression
To old aggressions
Loneliness hides
Your thoughts in your eyes

How can I foresee?
When my present burdens me
So I am alone
I wonder where I stand
In this master plan

IV. Listen?

[Instrumental]

V. Deaf Ears That Turn Away

A man who will question
A man who will die
Never speak keep all to yourself

Rain pours down on me
Washing away my sadness
Inside I’m lost
Lost in thoughts
A prison for myself

I cry
To deaf ears that turn away
I cry
At skies that can’t answer my prayers

I remember all his words
“Don’t loose your faith, don’t loose your faith…”

Pale colors fade
The sent of the rain
Still alive in my head

My shallow heart wounded
The past a tray of memories
Hoping this storm
Will change my fate

A raging storm is all I see
Not at all what I thought it would be
Still I wonder what’s expected from me

Life is a unique kind of feeling
Traveled through an unstable road
In time we are worn from all this
Faith alone can save us from the fall
